Katalyst Showcase and Talent Show Recap

Thanks to all of you who came out last night for #BulletsHaveNoNames.

As the hashtag suggests, the youth of Katalyst wanted to address the recent violence happening in the community.  At our Katalyst meetings, youth were reporting their own stories of friends getting shot, hearing gunshots near their homes and seeing violence happen right in front of them.

The “Bullets Have No Names” showcase  was the youth’s positive response to the violence and an opportunity for young people in the community to express themselves in a safe space.

Shout out to the Katalyst youth who put together a great show. Respect to the show sponsors, the SE Seattle PEACE Coalition and the City of Seattle’s YouthArts program! Check us out on Instagram (@wapi206) for pics and video from the show! Our Instagram account is linked to this website on the sidebar.
